Dodgers News: Mookie Betts Officially Activated Off of the Injured List

For the first time in what seems like a very long time, the Dodgers will basically be back at full strength in their lineup tonight. The only exception would be Will Smith, who just got done catching a 16-inning game on Wednesday night.

But the Dodgers will finally be getting Mookie Betts back in the outfield in San Diego tonight. The superstar outfielder was activated off of the injured list by the team this afternoon and will be in the starting lineup playing right field.

Betts last played a game on August 7th against the Angels before going down with hip soreness again. Since then, the Dodgers have gone with a combination of guys in right field. Trea Turner essentially took over the leadoff spot with Mookie on the IL.

Getting Betts back in obviously makes this a better lineup. He was hitting .381 in the month of August before hitting the IL and looked unstoppable coming out of the All-Star break for the Dodgers.

In order to make room for Betts on the active roster, the Dodgers optioned Gavin Lux back to Triple-A OKC. Lux has not been playing much at all as of late with the recent Turner addition. He did get an at-bat in the 16-inning win on Wednesday night.
