Dodgers News: Nick Buss, Alex Castellanos Recalled To Active Roster

With all the Dodgers injuries, management has decided to go to Triple A and they’ve recalled outfielders Nick Buss and Alex Castellanos. As rosters expand in September and with the Dodgers comfortable lead in the NL West, they can stand to rest Andre Ethier and Carl Crawford before the playoffs start.

Ethier isn’t in the lineup tonight after leaving last night’s game against the Giants as he irritated a sprained ankle that he injured during the Dodgers last series in Colorado.

David Vassegh of AM 570 Radio was the first to report the Dodgers were adding two more to the active roster:

At Triple A this season, Buss hit 17 home runs with 100 RBIs while hitting .303 and Castellanos hit .257 with 19 home runs and 61 RBIs, while Buss will make his first appearance at the big league level this season.

Castellanos has had minor stints with the Dodgers and has played 20 games in two years, including four this year and had two hits in nine plate appearances. With Matt Kemp also making his way back from an injury, these two could serve as nothing more as healthy bodies while the Dodgers look to get healthy before the end of the season.
