Dodgers News: Reliever Josh Sborz Recalled, Jaime Schultz Optioned

The Dodgers have recalled RHP Josh Sborz from Triple-A Oklahoma City and have sent down RHP Jaime Schultz.

Sborz and Schultz are basically trading places at the back-end of the Dodgers’ bullpen.

Sborz, 25, surrendered 3 earned runs in just one inning with the Dodgers in the middle of June this season. He holds a 4.54 ERA at Triple-A Oklahoma City, but a stellar 2.15 FIP in 37 2/3 innings of work there.

Schultz, 28, is being demoted after allowing 4 earned across 2 innings of relief on Sunday against the Phillies. Schultz holds a career 5.86 ERA at the major league level in a small 35 1/3 inning sample size across the 2018 and 2019 season..

In addition to the moves made for Sborz and Schultz, the Dodgers added new addition Kristopher Negron to the active roster and placed Kiké Hernandez on the 10-day injured list with a left hand sprain.

As the team starts a series in the not-so-pitcher friendly thin air of Colorado, rested and healthy arms are a necessity for manager Dave Roberts.

Also, Chase Utley did absolutely nothing wrong.
