In what was a game for the decade, Rich Hill was unbelievable. He threw 8 perfect innings before an error by Logan Forsythe broke that up. He then threw 9 complete no hit innings. However, the Dodgers’ offense failed to get on the board all night. Rich Hill took his no hit game into the 10th where he gave up a walk off home run to Josh Harrison.
Rich Hill is the first pitcher in the last 100 seasons to throw at least 9 innings, allow 1 or fewer hits with no walks, and get a loss.

9.1 no hit innings and you still lose. That stings, maybe even more heart broken the Hill was the Dodgers offense. A team that has been so dominating all year long lost its footing for one game and the timing of that game was just awful.
Rich Hill’s career has been one of constant ups and downs and unfortunate events. After his body continued to betray him putting him into one season ending surgery after another. It wasn’t until the 2016 season when Rich Hill finally caught a break. He had a great year with the A’s and was traded to the Dodgers where he helped them in their playoff push. After that year, Rich Hill got very emotional after the contract that was offered to him. A contract he has been working for and waiting patiently for his entire career.
Hill continues to stay healthy and put to work for the Dodgers’ and tonight he looks to continue to contribute for the Dodgers. Today it is against the division rivals, the Arizona Diamond Backs. Rich looks to stay hot and shut down the DBack’s offense. The Dodgers’ have had a cold past couple of weeks and they hope to break out of that today in Phoenix.
