Dodgers News: Trayce Thompson Returns This Week

More injured Dodgers are returning to the field. This time, it’s Trayce Thompson.

Thompson hit the disabled list last August with two fractures in his back. He hoped for a quick return, but was instead shut down for the remainder of the season.

Thompson gets lost in the outfield talk. Yasiel Puig’s name is always in the news. Andrew Toles’ comeback story has won over the fan base. Franklin Gutierrez is the “new” guy. But Thompson showed flashes in 80 games last season and will receive an opportunity to earn consistent time.

The Dodgers love to play the match-ups and shuffle the cards. Thompson will play, but expect the team to work him back slowly.

Adrian Gonzalez will also return this upcoming week.

  1. The Oklahoma Dodgers should win their division going away. I do not understand the contract to Gutierrez. He is an average player at best. Toles looks to be a real find. Van Slyke is back and hitting the cover off of the ball. Etheir is healthy and in the last year of his deal and as a 10/5 player cannot be traded without his agreement. So we have Pederson, Puig, Etheir, Toles, Thompson, Van Slyke, Gutierrez, how many do they keep? Do they platoon? Plus you have Bellinger and Verdugo possibly ready next year…. Nice problem to have but can cause issues. Plus you have 4 excellent utility guys for INF positions. How many pitchers do you keep? Do not want to even talk about the rotation… Kershaw, Maeda, Hill, McCarthy, Kazmir, Wood, Ryu, Urias, Stewart, Stripling, and you have guys like Oaks, Alvarez in the wings…. Tough decisions but what a scarey team… If they can manage the clubhouse as people want to play they should be one helluva team this year….Logan Foresyth looks like he may be a great pick up. No real weaknesses on this team…Really like the Romo pick up, great attitude, a winner and a guy with 3 rings….And a devastating slider….
