Dodgers News: Yadier Alvarez Switches to Wasserman Agency

Cody Bellinger isn’t the only top Dodgers prospect to recently change representation.

Yadier Alvarez signed with Los Angeles-based Wasserman Media Group, according to Jon Heyman of FanRag.

Alvarez is perhaps the next prized arm in a stacked Dodgers system. He placed No. 49 on MLB Pipeline’s ratings, and No. 26 on Baseball America. Minnesota reported requested Alvarez in Brian Dozier trade talks, but L.A. repeatedly balked, preferring to move former pitching prospect Jose De Leon.

While control and stamina are works in progress, Alvarez is a flamethrower with the natural ability of a No. 2 starter, if not more. He’s still raw, but the Dodgers have been patient with his development. Alvarez missed his last scheduled start due to personal reasons, but relieved Rich Hill in his rehab start. Alvarez threw four innings, allowing five hits and two runs.

Two Dodgers were added to the DL Thursday
