Dodgers News: Yasiel Puig Breaks Rookie Record For Hits In One Month
Since his promotion to the big leagues, Yasiel Puig has energized the team and brought them back from the dead as they sit just 4.5 games behind first place Arizona after they were swept in Atlanta.
Entering play today, Puig was hitting .417 with seven home runs and 16 RBIs, but already this afternoon, he’s 4-4 with two doubles a single and a double to go along with two stolen bases.
With his double in the seventh inning, Puig broke the record for hits in a month by a Dodgers rookie:

Puig has done just about everything the Dodgers could’ve expected or asked for in his short time at the big league level. He introduced himself with an incredible catch and throw from the warning track in his major league debut.
After getting smacked 16-1 by the Phillies on Friday night, the Dodgers rebounded with a win last night and have won seven of their last eight games to join the chase for the NL West.
With the calendar turning to July, Puig’s next accomplishment will be a selection to the All-Star team and cementing himself as the clear National League Rookie of the Year.
