Dodgers News: Yu Darvish Makes 1st Dodgers Appearance Tonight
The Los Angeles Doders’ major trade deadline acquisition, Yu Darvish, will be toeing the rubber against the New York Mets and Jacob deGrom in the opener of the three-game series at Citi Field.
Yu Darvish will not only be making his first Dodger appearance tonight, but his first appearance on a National League team, as he has been a member of the Rangers for the entirety of his time in Major League Baseball.
The Dodgers are sending their A-Team out to the field behind Darvish, with the only non-everyday starter playing in tonight’s game being Chase Utley. Yasmani Grandal will be handling the catching for Darvish, which should help Yu out quite a bit, as Grandal is one of the best pitch framers in baseball and Darvish had spent the 2017 season throwing to Jonathan Lucroy who is known to be one of the worst.

Darvish will also be making the change of having to make his way up to the plate to bat during every start now that he no longer pitches in the American League. Darvish has three career hits in 14 plate appearances over his career, with one of those hits being a home run.
Yu Darvish will be facing a full strength Mets lineup with their newest addition of top prospect Amed Rosario.

A win tonight will be no easy task for Los Angeles. The Mets will be throwing out Jacob deGrom as they look to put a stop to the Dodgers’ magical run.
