Dodgers: Offense Explodes in Win Over the Rockies

The Dodgers are really hoping they can figure out how to beat teams that they should be beating. For whatever reason, they tend to struggle against the teams that they should be absolutely dominating against. Facing off against the Rockies this weekend should be a good test for them to bounce back.

And they did it in a big way on Thursday night. The Dodgers started off the series against Colorado with 6 runs in the first 2 innings. That came via a 4-run second inning, thanks to a pair of doubles from Trea Turner and Will Smith. They went on to add 5 more runs in the 4th inning, again without a homerun.

Strangely enough, the Dodgers scored 13 runs on Thursday night without a single homerun. But they did have 4 different players with multi-hit games, including 3-hit games from Trea Turner and Gavin Lux. It was a hitting clinic.

Tyler Anderson Dazzles

Meanwhile, Tyler Anderson was twirling a gem against his longtime team. He ended up throwing 7 scoreless innings and allowing just 4 hits with 4 strikeouts. It was Anderson’s 11th win of the year and his ERA is now down to 2.61, the 4th best in the National League.

Hanser Alberto Pitches

The Dodgers had such a big lead late, that they brought in Hanser Alberto for his third appearance of the season. Despite allowing a pair of singles, Alberto induced 3 fly balls to end the game. In case you were wondering, his ERA is now hovering at 3. What a guy.

Up Next

The Dodgers and Rockies are back at it again tonight in Colorado. Julio Urias gets the ball for Los Angeles and will face off against righty Chad Kuhl. He held them to 3 hits in a complete game shutout last time he faced them.
