Dodgers: Reacting to a Lackluster Opening Day Loss, Please DFA Coors Field | Blue Heaven Podcast
After all the build up. After all the pomp and circumstance. After all the talk… game one on the road to repeat didn’t quite go the Dodgers’ way. Clint, Brook, and Gary are talking about LA’s ugly game one and wonder if the players came in a little too flat. While it’s always easy to point fingers and play the blame game, it may be easiest to say that Coors Field is the absolute worst ballpark to open a season at.

The guys chat about Clayton Kershaw’s rocky day (no pun intended) against Colorado. And, it’s never too early to start worrying about Dave Roberts’ in-game moves again, particularly with no universal DH.
Also, we try to find and focus on some positives, looking at a great game from Gavin Lux for one. Plus, the infamous Cody Bellinger home-run-turned-out.

Sad to say but I think Kershaw is really their #5 starter. If the velocity is down he is going to have a rough year. Hate to see him go out and embarrass himself. He’s a HOFer!
Hate to say it but I think Clayton is their #5 starter. His velocity is down and it was embarrassing for him out there. I don’t want to see him end his career on the downside. He’s a hall of famer and I want to remember him as one.
The home plate umpire on Thursday at Coors was giving wide corners to the Rockies through out the game…..He was calling the strikes when the Rockies catcher would frame the pitches to the corner from outside the plate. It was so obvious!! Needs to be reviewed by the League Office. Bill Welke was calling strikes consistently where the Catcher moved the ball to the corners.
