De La Rosa similarly worked out of trouble in the fourth after giving up a leadoff double to Yasiel Puig. Ethier went down swinging on three pitches, Grandal also struck out and Jimmy Rollins grounded out. Frias was again unable to keep the leadoff man from reaching as Lamb singled in the bottom of the inning.

Frias appeared poised to get out of the inning as he retired the next two batters, only to give up a two-run home run to Nick Ahmed that gave the Diamondbacks a 3-2 lead. De La Rosa worked around a Joc Pederson one-out base hit in the fifth to keep the Diamondbacks ahead.

After retiring the first two batters in the bottom of the inning, Frias was forced to labor as Goldschmidt and Tomas hit back-to-back singles. The Dodger right-hander got Lamb to ground out on a full count, keeping his club within one run of Arizona.

De La Rosa walked Ethier with two outs in the sixth. It not only meant the Dodgers had at least one batter reach base in each inning to that point, but it also spelled the end of De La Rosa’s night. Oliver Perez came on in relief and struck out Grandal to end the inning.

Juan Nicasio took over for Frias in the bottom of the sixth and struck out the first two batters he faced and retired the third, making it the first time the Diamondbacks were set down in order. Enrique Burgos walked Rollins in a nine-pitch at-bat to start the seventh and gave up a base hit to Pederson with one out.

The walk hurt Burgos as Kendrick fouled off multiple pitches before tying the game with an RBI single to center. Randall Delgado replaced Burgos and got Turner to fly out to the warning track in left field on a 3-0 pitch. Cliff Pennington led off the bottom of the seventh with a single, but was picked off first base soon after.

Nicasio erased a walk to Pollock by getting Peralta to hit into an inning-ending double play. Daniel Hudson struck out Puig in the top of the eighth, got pinch-hitter Alex Guerrero to ground out, and struck out Grandal to end a scoreless inning of relief, keeping the game tied at 3-3.

Pedro Baez took over for the Dodgers in the bottom of the eighth and stared down the heart of the Diamondbacks’ order. Goldschmidt grounded out and Tomas was gunned down by Scott Van Slyke attempting to stretch a single to a double. Baez then struck out Lamb on a high fastball.

With the game still tied in the bottom of the ninth, Joel Peralta was tasked with sending the game to extras. He got help from Pederson who tracked down a fly ball hit to the warning track in straightaway center for the first out. Peralta proceeded to retire the next two batters.

Kendrick continued with his recent hot stretch of hitting by leading off the 10th inning with a go-ahead solo home run to right field; the hit was Kendrick’s fourth of the night. After David Hernandez walked Gonzalez with one out, Puig knocked a single up the middle.

Grandal provided insurance with a two-out two-run double that extended the Dodgers lead to 6-3. David Hernandez was knocked out of the game as Matt Stites entered fresh off being called up from Triple-A Reno. Rollins was unable to extend the inning, grounding out to second.

Kenley Jansen came on in the bottom of the inning and issued his first walk of the season, which was followed by a Goldschmidt RBI double. Jansen struck out Tomas to wrap up the Dodgers’ 6-4 win and convert his 12th save of the season.
