Dodgers Roster News: Brusdar Graterol Optioned to Triple-A

Brusdar Graterol has been working to get back to the Dodgers after a slow start to his year. The hard-throwing righty got a slow ramp-up during Spring Training and was on the injured list to start the year.

Graterol returned to the Dodgers in mid-April and played in just 3 games before going back to the IL. He suffered some forearm discomfort and arm issues that led to the team sending him for an MRI. That came back clean and Brusdar avoided throwing or even picking up a ball for a while.

The Dodgers had Graterol throwing at Triple-A Oklahoma City this week in preparation for his return. After 2 outings, the team decided today to officially activate him. But he will not return to the big league squad for the moment.

Instead, the Dodgers decided to option Brusdar Graterol to Triple-A. He will remain with the OKC team for the time being and continue to build up to a better place. The team more than likely wants to see him get some more work in before bringing him back.

Graterol reportedly faced 3 batters on Thursday night and struck them all out. That’s something that the Dodgers want to see more of out of him up with the big league team. He’s down for now, but don’t expect him to be down there for long.
