Dodgers Rumors: Seager & Bellinger Avoid Arbitration, LA Made LeMahieu Offer, Still in on Brad Hand

With the dominos really starting to fall in the MLB offseason, we dive into the latest news and rumors surrounding the Los Angeles Dodgers. LA reportedly offered All-Star free agent DJ LeMahieu a 4-year $60 MM deal, but the 2020 AL batting champion looks to be headed back to the New York Yankees on a 6-year $90 MM deal.

We discuss how LeMahieu being off the table impacts the Dodgers and if LA should have made a more aggressive offer.

Next, rumors were swirling that free agent elite reliever Brad Hand was finalizing a 2-year deal with the New York Mets, but it turns out the rumors were premature and he’s still on the market with the Dodgers, Astros, and Blue Jays still interested. We assess where things stand with the Dodgers and Brad Hand. Plus, Cody Bellinger and Corey Seager avoid arbitration.

We break down their deals and discuss their future in Los Angeles.

  1. Most people around MLB already knew that LeMahieu was going back to the Yankees and they were going to match or top any other offer by any other team. But now the focus needs to bring Turner back if Dodgers can get him down from his 4 year request. In any event Freidman must secure a RHB and one to replace Kike if he were to sign elsewhere. As far as relievers go, either Hand or Yates are fine by me. But again the immediate priority is getting that productive RHB.
