  1. Well, sure, if you don’t ask, you don’t get. Still, as painful as losing Ruiz could be, if there is one area the Dodgers are overstaffed, it’s catchers. Ruiz and Cartaya are both effectively blocked at this point. Would I trade Ruiz even for a couple of months of Scherzer (I fully expect the Dodgers would extend him)? You bet your sweet bippy. I would be thrilled to go into any post season series with Scherzer, Buehler, Kershaw and Urias.

    1. I would trade Ruiz and float contingency that if the Dodgers can’t get Scherzer to sign an extension then no deal on Ruiz and the Nationals can have Cartaya and Sheldon Neuse or DJ Peters. If it wasn’t for Kershaw’s druthers to pitch to “No Offense” Barnes, Ruiz would have already been in the rotation with Smith and the Dodgers wouldn’t have two auto outs at 8-9 in the order…

  2. Ruiz is going to be a star and Sherzer will command more than the Dodgers will want to fly by the cap. Ruiz is to valuable to trade for any 2 month rental. Lux on the other hand, should be made available.

  3. Lets do this! It about winning now and we have holes to fill in pitching.
I think we’re pretty well covered at the catching position.
