Dodgers Slugger Cody Bellinger Alludes to Buzzer System for 2019 Astros

When the reigning NL MVP speaks, you should probably listen. On Friday, Dodgers star outfielder Cody Bellinger won a lot more respect from his peers while reacting to the latest and greatest in the Houston sign-stealing scandal fallout.

While putting the Astros on blast, Belli went off on Jose Altuve, questioning his odd reaction to a pennant-clinching walk-off home run last season.

I don’t know what human hits a walk-off home run against Aroldis Chapman to send your team to the World Series and – one – has the thought to say ‘don’t rip my jersey off’ but two, go in the tunnel, change your shirt, and then come out and do your interview. That makes no sense to me.

Zero sense… unless something was going on under that Altuve jersey. Earlier this winter, the Astros second baseman seemed unprepared to handle the reactions to these buzzer accusations. Even still, he seems that way now as well.

Moreover, this isn’t Cody’s first rodeo voicing frustration with the Astros. Last month while receiving his NL MVP award, Bellinger slammed the comments made in jest by Houston pitcher Justin Verlander.

The outfielder continued on with the absurdity of Altuve’s actions and added a bit on how would react.

I know me — [Yankees catcher] Gary Sanchez said it [Thursday] — you could rip my shirt off, my pants off, I send my team to the World Series off Aroldis Chapman in the 9th inning at home… I’m going crazy.

For Dodgers fans, we’ve already witnessed some of Cody’s greatest hits when it comes to game-winning hits. His walk-off single to score Manny Machado in the 2018 NLCS. His revenge solo shot off Yoan Lopez last July. If he sends his team to the Fall Classic, all hell may be breaking loose.

After spending part of the winter worried they would face punishment from MLB for speaking out against the Astros and the commissioner’s report, it is incredibly refreshing to see LA players talking honestly and freely.

  1. Waiting for RC to say every team cheated to this extent but not provide any evidence or tell us who he really is

  2. I have even more respect for Cody.
Houston has no right to the trophy and obviously they have no honor.

    Thanks, Clint.

  3. Horrible PR advice the cheaters got. Since everyone knows they cheated and the punishment has been given why not come out and sincerely say their sorry, give back the trophy as a sign of repentance and stop talking about how they want to play well this year.
IMHO they act like they’re still hiding something. Like if they were forthright they would let something slip out and MLB wouldn’t be constrained by their immunity promise. Something else is hiding in that “dark arts” file.
And btw, has anyone seen video of Hunch busting up the monitors in the dugout? There are cameras everywhere but but no video of it. Maybe that was a lie too.

  4. Don’t worry everyone I have a network of vigilantes on the dark web that will do Manfreds job for him
