Dodgers: Terrance Gore Likely Will be Added to the Postseason Roster

The Dodgers have yet to release their postseason rosters, but that hasn’t stopped the rumors from flying around. Those rumors were further fueled by the guys who showed up at the stadium for workouts on Tuesday afternoon.

One of those guys that showed up for workouts was Terrance Gore. Gore has not logged a single at-bat for the Dodgers in 2020. Instead, he has appeared as a pinch-runner and defensive replacement in 2 games. Aside from that, he’s been spending his time at the USC location getting his reps in.

But when asked about Terrance Gore on Tuesday, Dave Roberts revealed that there was a good chance that Gore made the wildcard roster. The Dodgers would likely only use him in a pinch-running role if they were to add him.

It makes sense in one sense, but it also takes away a roster spot from someone who could use it. Given that it’s only a 3-game series, the Dodgers could potentially go with a shorter bullpen an opt to give that spot to Gore. That would ensure that they do not need to keep a bat off of the roster just to get him on.

Dodgers: Picking Our Regular Season Award Winners

  1. Gore is a really good base runner. But we have Mookie, Cody, and Chris w+ho are really good base runners, too. Kike is a hair below them. So we have 4 guys who will not be pinch run for. Turner and Pollock and Smith will be lost for the game if they are pinch run for. I don’t think a 5% to 10% chance of success with a pinch runner is worth giving up that position when you could have a Ruiz, Beatty , or McKinstry as a bat off the bench. Lux is a question mark, he really took a step backwards when the season was stopped in March.

  2. He’s going in the 9th n if it’s a tie game for Justin or Max where he will.steal 2nd with the winning run brought in by the hitters behind. He can disrupt Williams the young closer and win a game. It ‘s a gamble that might be worth it.

  3. Don’t waste this spot with him.We have others that are capable of doing what he can do. Another stupid decision by the Dodger braniacs!

  4. do not put this guy in.AND WE DO NOT NEED LUX.. THERE IS PLENTY OF SPEED ON THE ROOSTER. D.R. SETTING US UP FOR ANOTHER CRAZY ,DUMB MOVE ,SEEMS HE DOES NOT WANT TO WIN W.S. D.R. CAN LOTS OF DAMAGE ON HIS OWN.

  5. Don’t include Lux if you want Gore. We’re going to have no hitting from that spot anyway so might as well go with the speed in Gore

  6. With the expanded playoff roster, Gore is a luxury we can afford. Having a little bit extra speed might just come in handy in the late or extra inning games. Frankly, I am more concerned with getting Belli, Mad Max, Lux into run producing mode. Go Blue!!!

  7. BLUE LOU, well Gore or no Gore, Lux or no Lux, 3 things to determine Dodger fate in thi series
    1. Roberts handling of the pitching an his lineup decisions
2.The hitters making contact especially with RISP
    3. The pitching keeping the baseball in the yard.
We simply can look back on last year’s NLDS as an example of what I’m talking about.
