The move has been made in conjunction with another flurry of roster moves. Southpaw Caleb Ferguson, Beaty, and Garlick have been given the call with Kenta Maeda sent to the Injured List with JT Chargois and Rocky Gale sent down to Oklahoma City.
The #Dodgers plan to place Kenta Maeda on the injured list, and recall Kyle Garlick and Matt Beaty from Oklahoma City before tomorrow's game in Cincy, per sources.
They have an extra roster spot after activating Caleb Ferguson and optioning J.T. Chargois and Rocky Gale today.

A fresh face, Kyle Garlick has had a fantastic year so far in Oklahoma City while posting a .280/.375/.627 slash line to go along with 10 homers and 20 RBI in 35 games.
Beaty saw some action for the Dodgers just last week and went 2-for-3 with a run batted in while pinch-hitting and acting as bench depth for the big club.
The corresponding roster move was for Chargois, who has also performed well in Triple-A and has not seen a ton of action so far with the Dodgers. Rocky Gale was also the third catcher on the roster and was seen as an expendable part by the organization.
With Garlick being promoted, the organization has also chosen to promote hot-hitting outfielder Zach Reks to Triple-A.
This is a lot of roster moves at once, but the Dodgers have been active with their roster in recent days so this comes as no surprise.
Let’s wish some luck to Kyle Garlick in what his first big-league cup of coffee and also wish luck to Matt Beaty who was kind enough to talk to us here at Dodgers Nation.
