Dodgers To Unveil New Sandy Koufax Statue This Saturday

The Dodgers are set to honor one of the greatest to ever do it for them this weekend. The team previously announced that June 18th would be the day that they unveiled a brand new statue to honor Sandy Koufax in the centerfield plaza. And they have an entire event planned before the game for it.

The sculptor of the statue Branly Cadet, the same person who did the Jackie Robinson statue, will also be in attendance. The Dodgers also plan on having several big names in attendance, including Special Assistant to the Commissioner, Joe Torre.

Clayton Kershaw is also expected to be in attendance along with Koufax himself. He pitched for Brooklyn and Los Angeles for 12 seasons before calling it a career. In that time, he won 3 Cy Young Awards, 3 Triple Crowns, an MVP, and 3 World Series titles. He is forever going to be one of the greatest to ever do it for this franchise.

Dave Roberts surprised every Dodgers fan by letting Tyler Anderson go crazy with his pitch count. But with the way he was throwing and the no-hitter intact, there was no way he was pulling him. Especially after the backlash from when he pulled Clayton Kershaw during his perfect game in Minnesota. And fans appreciated Doc changing it up.
