Dodgers: Tony Gonsolin Closing in On His Season Goal

Imagine where the Dodgers would be without the help of Tony Gonsolin and Tyler Anderson this year. With multiple starting pitchers going down with injuries and Walker Buehler struggling big time, those 2 have stepped up, And they’re a big reason why this team is in the position they’re in right now.

But Gonsolin is very reminding people of what he is capable of, something that few Dodgers fans already knew. He has pitched to a 6-0 record and a 1.59 ERA across his first 10 starts of the season. To put it simply, he’s been phenomenal.

He’s pitching so well that he is quickly approaching one of his goals for the season. The Dodges pitcher spoke on MLB Network about wanting to make the All-Star team this year, and it seems very likely that will happen in 2022.

“That’s really what my goal was this year, to come back and feel good and be healthy and do my best to try to make the All-Star team. That was one of my main goals this year personally. So we’ll see what happens with that, we’ve got another month and a half.”

Right now, Gonsolin is the top in the National League with his ERA and 2nd behind Tyler Anderson with 6 wins. He carries a 1.2 fWAR which is also just behind Anderson for the Dodgers lead, and it puts him in the top 20 in the National League.
