Dodgers Video: Freddie Freeman Arrives At Camelback Ranch

Today is the day. The Dodgers have a press conference scheduled for noon, and there is no doubt that it is to welcome their latest free-agent addition. Fans in Los Angeles and in Glendale, Arizona are very excited about the Freddie Freeman signing, and he’s going to be a hit among the fans at Spring Training.

This morning, Freddie arrived at Camelback Ranch for his first day with the Dodgers. Video taken from the player’s lot today showed Freddie pulling up in a full suit and holding onto a glove. Naturally, there was a crowd of cameras there to welcome him.

Dave Roberts had said yesterday that Freddie would be with the team today. No word yet on what kind of work he is expected to get in today. The Dodgers do have a Spring Training game today, which Freddie will obviously not be taking part in. But the fact that he is here at Camelback Ranch is VERY exciting.

Considered a long-shot to sign Freeman at the beginning of the offseason, the Dodgers landed him on a 6-year deal worth $162 million. That was enough to beat out every other team in on the slugging first baseman, including the Braves. Atlanta went out and traded for Matt Olson before Freeman even made his decision official.

Welcome to LA Freddie!
