Dodgers vs Brewers: Latest Betting Odds, Predictions and Picks for August 23

The Dodgers were shut out by the Brewers in the first game of their three-game series, and things won’t get easier on Tuesday as they face reigning Cy Young Award winner Corbin Burnes. Burnes will be opposed by his former college teammate Tony Gonsolin, one of only three pitchers in the NL with a better ERA than Burnes.

After the Dodgers knocked around Marlins ace Sandy Alcantara on Sunday to raise his ERA from 1.92 to 2.19, Gonsolin took over the league lead with his 2.12 ERA. He will look to improve that against a Brewers team he beat with seven shutout innings just last week.

Burnes allowed three runs to the Dodgers in his start last week, but it came in Andrew Heaney’s first bad start of the season so Burnes still took home the win. It was only the seventh time in 24 starts Burnes allowed more than two runs. His 2.48 ERA is just slightly higher than last year’s mark, which led the majors and helped him win the Cy Young.
