Clayton Kershaw is coming off another All-Star season in 2019. In 29 games (28 starts), the 32-year-old posted a 16-5 record with a 3.03 ERA in 178.1 innings pitched. He was second on the pitching staff in bWAR with a mark of 3.1, trailing the since-departed Hyun-Jin Ryu.

Cueto missed most of the last two seasons after undergoing Tommy John surgery. He returned to make 4 starts late in 2019, allowing 9 earned runs in 16 IP (5.06 ERA).

With Madison Bumgarner having signed a 5-year deal in free agency with the Arizona Diamondbacks, the 35-year-old Cueto has big shoes to fill alongside righty Jeff Samardiza staff aces for San Francisco.
