Dodgers vs Marlins: Latest Betting Odds, Predictions and Picks for August 19

The Dodgers go into tonight’s homestand opener looking to get hot again after alternating losses and wins for each of the last five games of their roadtrip in Kansas City and Milwaukee. Los Angeles will send All-Star Tyler Anderson to the mound against young lefty Jesus Luzardo for the Marlins. The Dodgers come in with an MLB-best 81-36 record and hold a 17-game lead in the NL West. The Brewers, in fourth place in the NL East, are 52-66.

Anderson will be making his 21st start of the season (23rd game overall), coming off just his second loss of the season when he allowed three runs in six innings in Kansas City on Sunday. Overall, Anderson is 13-2 with a 2.81 ERA and leads the Dodgers with 128.1 innings pitched.

Luzardo will be making his 10th start of the season, having missed nearly three months with a left forearm strain. In his three starts since his return, he’s been solid, throwing 17 innings with a 3.18 ERA and 17 strikeouts with just three walks. Luzardo was acquired from the A’s at last year’s trade deadline for Starling Marte, back when the A’s used to trade young talent for established stars instead of the other way around.
