Dodgers: Watch Chico Once Again Make a Jaw-Dropping Play

I cannot quite explain the phenomenon that is currently taking over the Dodgers’ fan base. Chico, a clubhouse attendant and human highlight reel, is making this Summer Camp 100 times more interesting.

What started out as a fill-in role while guys got back to camp has turned in to a nation-wide spectacle. Fans from all over MLB have started tuning in to watch the Dodgers’ intrasquad games whenever Chico is in the lineup. You just never know what the kid is going to do out there on a daily basis.

His highlights started slowly, catching a high fly ball out in left field that impressed for a guy that doesn’t actually play. His fame grew when he threw out Chris Taylor trying to tag up on a flyball. But his legend was forever cemented with the Dodgers on Tuesday night when he robbed Mookie Betts of extra bases and turned a double play. Just watch and be amazed at the legend of Chico.

First of all, the ability to adjust and run down a screaming line drive off of the bat of Mookie Betts is impressive by itself. But to do so right up against the wall and to turn and gun the ball in has made us big fans of Chico. Dodgers fans are sure to remember this guy for years to come.

Dave Roberts has previously said that Chico would not get an opportunity to hit in camp, but maybe that will change. He got the chance to pinch run for Max Muncy during that same game on Tuesday.
