Dodgers: Watch Hanser Alberto Make His LA Pitching Debut

It was a great Tuesday for the Dodgers. Playing two games against Arizona, they managed to come out after a game 1 win and explode on the offensive side of the ball. Los Angeles put up 12 runs on the Diamondbacks and cruised through the game after the 2nd inning.

But that blowout also presented another fun opportunity for Dodgers fans. With so many runs on the board and it being the second game of the day, Dave Roberts decided it was a good time to give the bullpen a break for the night.

That meant a position player pitching, which is always fun for baseball fans. The Dodgers went with Hanser Alberto, who has pitched in 2 other games during his big league career. Alberto’s last outing came in 2021 for the Royals when he faced one batter. He also pitched in 2019 for the Orioles and got knocked around a little bit.

So how did Alberto‘s relief outing go? Well, he did allow a run. But all he gave up was a pair of singles, inducing two groundball outs and a flyout off the bat of Josh Rojas. The Dodgers infielder also mixed in a decent slider that froze Rojas in the box.

The Dodgers would go on to win 12-3 and take the third game of the series from Arizona. Up next, they will go for the sweep in Los Angeles on Wednesday afternoon. Walker Buehler gets the ball and will go up against Zach Davies, who has given them fits in the past.
