Dodgers: Watch Justin Turner’s Incredible Heads Up Play to Nab the Runner

Dodgers fans didn’t have a whole lot to be happy about on Sunday afternoon. They had to watch their team give up two leads and lose in extra innings in just about the worst way that you can imagine. A slow bouncing ball to the right side should have ended things, but that’s just baseball sometimes.

But there was at least one play that got fans off of their couches at home. With the Dodgers trying to keep a one-run lead in extra innings, a slow bouncer set the stage for the Phillies to have runners at the corners with no outs.

Trea Turner ranged to his right and fired to first, but could not get the runner. Freddie Freeman threw to third to try to get JT Realmuto, but he beat the throw. And that’s where the magic happened. Justin faked like the ball when past him and tagged Realmuto out, putting the Dodgers in a much better spot.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough for the Dodgers to keep their winning streak up. Max Muncy’s error on an easy grounder led to the Phillies taking the final game of the series. Up next, Los Angeles will start a set against the Nationals in DC on Monday night.
