Dodgers: What’s in the Locker of All-Star and MVP Mookie Betts?

For a time, Dodgers fans weren’t sure if they were ever going to see prized offseason acquisition Mookie Betts suit up in blue at Dodger Stadium. That fear was squashed when Betts and LA President of Baseball Operations Andrew Friedman came together on a 12 year (!) contract extension.

Talk about the opposite end of the spectrum!

So with Mookie planning on spending the next 12+ years in Los Angeles, he’ll no doubt have more than enough time to get his locker in order. However, early into his Dodger tenure, he gave the folks at What Pros Wear a locker tour.

Locker Tour: Mookie Betts, Los Angeles Dodgers

Obviously, this is from a different time in our lives — spring training… when things were still open and happy. At the time, his lock still featured much of his gear in Red Sox red, but that’s definitely changed by now.

One thing that hasn’t changed is his bat. Mookie gave WPW a deep dive into how he ended up with his ax-handle bat and how he never plans on changing it. He also gets into his new blue and white A2K glove from Wilson, which we covered more here. Interestingly, he says in this interview that he gives his gloves to the bullpen catchers to break them in, not expecting to see his glove usually until opening day.

We have 12 years to learn everything about the great Markus Lynn “Mookie” Betts. Be thankful.
