Dodgers: What’s Really Wrong With Julio Urías? Should LA Trade for Another Starter?

For the first part of the 2021 Season, Julio Urías was one of the Dodgers’ most dependable starters but has slid into a bit of a funk of late. We discuss Julio’s recent struggles and if they’re a result of fatigue and or MLB’s crackdown on foreign substances and if he’ll be able to get back to turning in quality starts for LA.

Next, we dive into the Dodgers’ options if the team continues to have issues with starting pitching. We discuss if LA should consider building up David Price or Jimmy Nelson into starters or if it’s time to consider making a trade for another starting pitcher or more bullpen help. Plus, who should Andrew Friedman go after if the Dodgers decide to pursue trades?

  1. It seems that Urias’ pitches, lately, have lost the life that they had earlier. He appears to be really struggling on the mound. As to a replacement, I don’t think Price would be able to sustain any king of effective stuff beyond 2 or 3 innings. I guess Nelson could be a possibility, but I don’t suppose anyone really knows at this point.

  2. Acquiring a fresh arm of merit would only benefit us now.As we begin to get all position players back and the inner drive level of those that have kept things doable as it were continues a added pitcher is going to certainly help. The time line is now before the All Star break.Slipping away from first is to be stemmed off and the sooner the better. We can pull it off. The question is who should we get.We have franchise depth to find a quality arm.

  3. Nothing wrong with Urias ,he happens to be going through what happens to all pitchers… can’t be perfect all the time.! It’s happened to all Dodger starters. Trading Urias would be idiotic. Why not trade one of your higher prices pitchers? They have a bargain with Julio..!!!
