The Los Angeles Dodgers were hitless through their first four innings for the second consecutive game. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim starter C.J. Wilson shut them down for four innings while Ernesto Frieri tossed a hitless fifth inning.
However, in the sixth inning the Dodgers loaded the bases for the second consecutive game against reliever Dane De La Rosa. Last night it was Alex Guerrero who smacked a grand slam to open the flood gates and today, it was fifth outfielder Scott Van Slyke who brought everyone home.
Van Slyke hit a 1-2 pitch over the left field fence to give the Dodgers a 4-o lead and second grand slam in as many days. The 27-year-old infielder/outfielder is almost assured of a spot coming out of Spring Training and looks to be more relaxed in camp.
