deGrom struck out Grandal and Puig in the fifth before allowing a two-out single to Andre Ethier. Again, the Dodgers were unable to get anything going as Jimmy Rollins followed with a groundout.

Curtis Granderson led off the sixth inning with a base hit and stole second base to move into scoring position with no outs. He was then advanced to third base on a Ruben Tejada sacrifice bunt that may have rolled into foul territory had Greinke let it go.

After Murhpy was intentionally walked, Gonzalez this time got the runner at home plate on a chopper hit to him. Greinke uncharacteristically battled control issues as he walked Duda to load the bases, then hit Conforto on the elbow, scoring a run and allowing the Mets to extend their lead to 2-0.

Gonzalez drew a leadoff walk in the seventh only for it to be followed by deGrom retiring the next three batters. He ended the inning by striking out Puig a second time in the game. deGrom worked a one-out walk in the bottom of the seventh before Greinke managed to get out of the inning.

deGrom walked Rollins with one out in the eighth and gave way to the Mets bullpen after getting pinch-hitter Alberto Callaspo to ground out. Jeurys Familia entered to face Pederson and kept the Dodgers off the board by getting the rookie center fielder to ground out on a 2-0 pitch.

Juan Uribe made a barehanded play on a slow roller for the first out in the ninth inning, which was key as Gonzalez then hit a one-out double off the right-center field wall. Turner followed with an RBI double that cut the Dodgers’ deficit to 2-1.

Carl Crawford pinch-ran for Turner and scored on Grandal’s RBI single that got by a diving Uribe and tied the game. Familia ended the inning by striking out Puig and getting Ethier to ground out. Starting a second inning of relief in the ninth, J.P. Howell walked Conforto to open the inning.

Howell atoned for the leadoff walk by making a diving catch on Nieuwenhuis’ sac-bunt attempt. Juan Nicasio replaced Howell as part of a double switch that also put Scott Van Slyke in left field and moved Ethier to right. Nicasio stranded the winning run at first base by striking out the two batters faced to send the game into extra innings.

Jenrry Mejia issued a leadoff walk to Rollins in the 10th inning and the veteran shortstop moved into scoring position by stealing second base. Van Slyke bunted Rollins over to third base, where he was stranded as Pederson struck out and Howie Kendrick flied out.

Granderson legged out a double on what should have been a leadoff single to right in the bottom of the 10th. A failed sac-bunt attempt resulted in nothing more than an out with Granderson having to hold at second base. Nicasio intentionally walked Murphy, then the ball was handed over to Kenley Jansen.

The change didn’t pay off for the Dodgers as Uribe hurt his former team for a third time in a week by hitting a walk-off RBI single.

  1. Uribe plays for the Atlanta Braves NOT the New York Mets unless he was recently traded!!!
