While the Los Angeles Dodgers were in the midst of trying to avoid a two-game sweep at the hands of the Texas Rangers and Global Life Park in Arlington, the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors tipped off Game 6 of the 2015 NBA Finals in Cleveland.

Interest in the Finals and NBA playoffs had seeped into the Dodgers’ clubhouse in recent weeks, particularly for Northern California natives Joc Pederson and Jimmy Rollins. Hailing from that region of the state, both backed the Warriors, who led the NBA and set a franchise record with 67 wins this season.

Under first-year head coach Steve Kerr, the Warriors completed their climb to the top of the mountain Tuesday night by defeating the Cavaliers to win the 2015 NBA title. Shortly after the final buzzer sounded, Pederson sent out a celebratory tweet:

Rollins soon followed with a similar tweet and added a congratulations:

Yasiel Puig took to Instagram and congratulated Stephen Curry on winning the NBA title:

Congratulations @wardell30 for 2015 MVP and NBA champion

Magic Johnson also congratulated fellow part-owner of the Dodgers, Peter Guber, who co-owns the Warriors:

If the Dodgers have any luck at all, Guber’s involvement and success as an owner of the Warriors will carry over into Los Angeles come October.
