Being a professional MLB athlete or in any major sport for that matter, comes with countless perks. Aside from lavish salaries, players have the benefit of meeting other celebrities and in some instances, being sponsored or endorsed by companies.

For the Los Angeles Dodgers, their benefits include playing their home games with Hollywood as a backdrop and having a powerful group of owners that includes Magic Johnson. The Hall of Fame point guard is responsible for bringing multiple championships to Los Angeles during his days playing for the Lakers and he recently delivered a gift to Joc Pederson.

In a photo posted to his Twitter account, Pederson revealed he received an autographed jersey from Johnson:

Pederson was born just months before Johnson and the USA basketball team won the gold medal at the 1992 Olympics. He received the jersey one day after an impressive game that included starting a double play in the first inning and hitting a three-run home.

Pederson is batting .296/.458/.556 from primarily the eighth spot in the Dodgers’ lineup. He’s also one of eight Dodgers to appear on the voting ballot for the 2015 All-Star Game, which opened Wednesday.
