Dodgers Kike Hernandez Changes Things Up to Show Support

Los Angeles Dodgers utility player Kike Hernandez looks a little different today. We all know how much Hernandez loves his long hair so it took everyone by surprise when he revealed his new do. Hernandez showed up to the Dodgers’ clubhouse on Tuesday with a shaved head.

Dodgers reporter Alanna Rizzo posted the photo of Hernandez’s new look on her Instagram and said he was ready for a change.

According to Bill Plunket, Hernandez shaved his head in hopes that his new haircut will help him play better, similar to how Dodgers outfielder Trayce Thompson started hitting better after his makeover back in April. Having more serious motives to shave his head, Hernandez’s intentions were mainly to support his father who is currently battling cancer.

Hernandez has not been able to perform as well as he did last year so it is understandable he wants to try anything to better his numbers. Check out his career numbers below.

Although we’ll miss his long hair, we applaud him in his efforts to support his father. Don’t worry Kike, you’re still cool in our books.
