CBS Sport and their weekly power rankings have the Dodgers sitting atop the rest of the league this week. Last week the CBS rankings had the boys in blue in their number 2 spot after losing 3 of 4 to San Diego heading into the break. However, MLB network had them listed as first last week.
As for this week’s CBS write-up, it surprisingly frank and honest about the Dodgers 2019 season…

This Is No Time For Bull(pen)
The description for the Dodgers reads as follows:
“The bullpen is a real concern. This is not a time to mess around. They need to do whatever it takes to get multiple lockdown arms. This is a stellar team, but the regular season doesn’t even matter any more.”
Dodger fans know this, and CBS minced no words. The Dodgers (as of this writing) hold a 14.5 game lead over the rest of the NL west. The only problem (and everybody knows) is shoring up this bullpen. Who’s the bridge to Kenley Jansen? Who else besides Julio Urias — who may yet move to the starting rotation — and Pedro Baez — pitch tipping aside — do Dodger fans trust for this role? Are Urias and Baez even enough? Questions abound before the trade deadline.
The Dodgers still hold the best starting rotation in baseball, and their offense still sits atop the NL in most categories. This is a World Series worthy team. The only question in the air is whether the bullpen will be ready for it.
