As the defending NL West champions with a roster that’s undergone a makeover during the offseason, the Los Angeles Dodgers 2015 regular-season schedule is full of intriguing dates and games. Among them is the Dodgers’ three-game series against the San Diego Padres, which begins Opening Day.

However, the Dodgers have also assembled a promotional giveaway schedule complete with several items ranging from bobbleheads to collectors’ pins. Also on the giveaway schedule is a Tommy Lasorda garden gnome.

Lasorda made his Major League debut in August of 1954 as a pitcher for the Brooklyn Dodgers and was a member of the team that won the 1955 World Series. After bouncing around with other teams, Lasorda returned with the Dodgers’ Minor League system before being released in 1960.

In 1976 Lasorda became the 24th manager of the Dodgers and he held the position until 1996. In his 20 years, Lasorda led the Dodgers to two World Series titles (1981 and 1988) and finished with a 1599-1439 career record.

During his managerial career, Lasorda also was named NL Manager of the Year twice, first in 1983 and the second in 1988. In his first year of eligibility, he was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1997.

Beloved among Dodger fans, Lasorda is a regular fixture at Dodger Stadium and fans will be able to get their hands on this garden-gnome version of Lasorda on May 25, via the Dodgers’ Vine account:
