After taking a late lead Friday night the Los Angeles Dodgers were looking for a second consecutive win and 12th series win at home in 13 tries.

Yangervis Solarte opened the game with a base hit to center, but was quickly erased as Cory Spangenberg grounded into a 6-4-3 double play. Mike Bolsinger then got Matt Kemp to ground out and added another scoreless inning to his name this season.

Ian Kennedy, who’s struggled against the Dodgers in his career, gave up a solo home run to Joc Pederson in the bottom of the first. The home run was Pederson’s second in as many plate appearances and both came with two strikes. Jimmy Rollins followed with a single and stole second base on called strike three to Howie Kendrick.

After Adrian Gonzalez struck out Rollins stole third base without drawing a throw as the ball got away from catcher Austin Hedges. Kemp then helped his pitcher out by reaching up to snag a Justin Turner fly ball on the run.

Bolsinger got two quick outs in the second inning and ended the frame by striking out Jedd Gyorko after falling behind 2-0 in the count. Andre Ethier led off the home half of the inning by reaching on a sinking liner to right field. Kemp gave it a sliding attempt, but was unable to corral the ball as it hit his glove.

Scott Van Slyke hit a more traditional single and both runners advanced on a slow A.J. Ellis roller to third. Kennedy got out of the jam by striking out Bolsinger and Pederson. Bolsinger returned the favor when struck out Kennedy swinging to complete a scoreless third inning.
