MLB News: A Young Fan Has a Once in a Lifetime Encounter with Christian Yelich

If you need a good pick me up, this story might be it. On Thursday, at the Brewers vs. Pirates game, Bryan Reynolds hit a foul ball to deep left field, right against the wall and the luckiest fan got to it just in time. A young fan named Christian Gale was able to reach over the wall at the perfect time and make an incredible catch.

This also led to Yelich reaching up to the young fan and giving him a high five, not realizing the fan was hoping for him to sign the ball.

The next day, the 11-year-old was at the Friday game as well and was interviewed by Dan Potash, who is a reporter for AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh. He was asked about the catch he made and Gale said how much he wanted an autograph, but unfortunately did not get one. Later that night, Potash came back to the young fan and gave him a bat that was autographed by Christian Yelich to make up for it.

Although, he was blown away by the fact that Yelich high-fived him, as you can see, but getting that bat made him “speechless.”

Christian Yelich earned a lot of respect from fans and made everyone remember that some things are bigger than baseball.
