Mookie Official, A Pederson Apology, MLB Playoffs and More | Blue Heaven Podcast

Episode 103 – “Dodgers Fully Operational Death Star”

After a week of drama, the Dodgers land their man. Mookie Betts and David Price are coming to Los Angeles, plus the surprising addition of hard-throwing prospect Brusdar Graterol. Tim Rogers joins us to talk about the players coming in and out of LA. And Dodgers broadcaster joins to offer his unique perspective on Mookie.

Listen

Things got real scary with the Mookie trade. Thankfully, Andrew Friedman pulled off his greatest hit yet. The guys are joined by our @SDDodger Tim Rogers to talk about all the prospects the Dodgers shipped off in the two blockbuster deals. Plus with the reported Angels falling through, we wonder what happens next with Joc Pederson.

Clint spent some time with Dodgers broadcaster Tim Neverett early on Tuesday. In an excerpt from the chat, Tim tells us a bit about Mookie Betts the person. Additionally, Brook and Clint make their win/loss predictions for the 2020 season.

Next, Brook breaks down the oddly-timed new potential playoff formatting proposed by MLB commissioner Rob Manfred. Clint questions “why now?”

Finally, since he’s still around, we may owe Joc Pederson an apology.

This is another jam-packed show indeed!

  1. To Clint – the front office owes Joc an apology for shopping him every year when he continues to do his best, which is better than most of the losers they overpay.

To Brook – thanks for never answering the emails I sent with questions for you

  2. Apology? I don’t know. This is a business. It’s a fun business yes but a multi-million dollar business. You try to make the best moves possible at that time and whatever is put in front of you to grab. Joc was in an odd position. With him, it was hell if you do or hell if you don’t. You never knew what he was going to do when he played. He could have a great day or in the more likely day, he’d be his own weird guy. He has some kind of temper and a back and forth attitude. he can be a great player if he’d just quit messing around and be serious. I hope to see the better of him this year.
