PHOTO: Dodgers’ Hanley Ramirez Using Suction Cup Therapy Pregame

[new_royalslider id=”5″] Post All-Star game in 2013, Hanley Ramirez was arguably the hottest hitter in all of baseball. Along with Yasiel Puig, Ramirez was a major force in the Los Angeles Dodgers remarkable 42-8 run that vaulted them to the top of the NL West standings and into the postseason.

Ramirez helped carry the Dodgers to an NLDS victory over the Atlanta Braves only to see his season come to an end after being struck by a pitch on the ribs in Game 1 of the NLCS. Heading into this season, lofty expectations were placed on both the Dodgers and Ramirez, who is in a contract year.

Thus far, the 2014 season hasn’t gone according to plan for Ramirez, who is hitting .250 with six home runs and 22 RBIs. The 30-year-old shortstop is reportedly looking to sign a new deal in excess of $130 million and in order to receive such a contract, Ramirez will need to increase his production.

The ability to revert to 2013’s form, Ramirez, who has a history of hamstring injuries, will need to remain healthy. Courtesy of Puig’s Instagram account, is a photo of Ramirez partaking in some form of suction cup therapy. The benefits of the treatment are said to include aiding respiratory issues and open paths where energy naturally travels through the body.
