It appears the Los Angeles Dodgers bats may have finally awoken after scoring six runs on 11 hits in Monday’s Memorial Day victory over the Atlanta Braves. The two teams are back at it on Tuesday evening at Dodgers Stadium, with both teams sending their ace to the mound.

Clayton Kershaw is making his 10th start of the season. The reigning Cy Young and National League MVP winner has not been his usual self so far this season, as he is just 2-3 with a 4.32 ERA. He has struck out 73 batters in 58.1 innings this season though, which ranks third in Major League baseball. In five career starts against the Braves the left-hander is 1-0 with a 2.11 ERA in 38.1 innings.

Kershaw is opposed by Braves ace Julio Teheran. The right-hander is 4-1 with a 3.91 ERA this season. He is 0-2 with a 4.11 ERA in two career starts against the Dodgers. Teheran and Kershaw last faced off against each other in July 2014, when both pitchers threw complete games, and the Dodgers won 2-1. Teheran tossed a five-hitter while Kershaw yielded nine hits.

Andre Ethier, Alex Guerrero and Jimmy Rollins are all in the starting lineup for the Dodgers, after homering in Monday’s win. Ethier is batting .410 (16-for-39) in his last 12 home games. He has filled in nicely for Yasiel Puig, batting .313 on the season with six home runs. He hit just four all of last season.

Alberto Callaspo will get the start at third base for the Braves on the day that he was close to being traded to the Dodgers for Juan Uribe. The trade didn’t end up happening because Callaspo was able to veto any trade before June 15th since he signed with the Braves as a free agent in the offseason.
