With the Los Angeles Dodgers losing 1-0 Tuesday night in extra innings to Chicago Cubs, they’re again looking to have a better offensive performance to provide run support for Mike Bolsinger.

Bolsinger comes into the game with a 4-2 record and 2.87 ERA, and has yet to earn a win on the road. In his four prior starts away from Dodger Stadium, Bolsinger has gone 0-1 while allowing a total of nine runs over 21.1 innings.

The Dodger right-hander is coming off his first home loss in his last start. He allowed the San Francisco Giants to score five runs on eight hits in 5.1 innings of work. Four of the runs came courtesy of Buster Posey, who hit a two-out grand slam during the third inning.

The last time Bolsinger faced the Cubs was last season when he still with the Arizona Diamondbacks. It was one of his better starts of the year as he only allowed one unearned run and struck out seven batters while pitching in 6.2 innings.

Opposing Bolsinger is Kyle Kendricks, who holds a 2-3 record and 4.28 ERA. He is in search of his first home win of the season after going 0-1 in his five prior starts at Wrigley Field. Kendricks’ last start saw the young right-hander give up a career high seven runs in five innings pitched in a road game against the Minnesota Twins.

Wednesday marks be the second time in Kendricks’ career he’s making a start against the Dodgers. He picked a up win against them last season, holding the Dodgers to just two runs and four hits over seven innings.

With the Dodgers struggling to put runs on the board, manager Don Mattingly made more adjustments to his lineup while also giving Howie Kendrick the night off. Kiké Hernandez starts at second base and leads things off for the Dodgers.

Yasiel Puig was originally slated to bat fifth, but he was a late scratch and replaced by Alex Guerrero at that spot in the order. Guerrero played left field, which moved Andre Ethier to right.
