The Los Angeles Dodgers dropped the first game of their doubleheader with the Colorado Rockies earlier. Juan Nicasio got the start and went two innings in a bullpen game, while Ian Thomas allowed four runs in his Dodgers debut to get the loss. After the first game, David Huff and Austin Barnes were traded out for Josh Ravin and Daniel Coulombe.

In the first game, the Dodgers were unable to do much against Jorge De La Rosa except for a 477-foot home run by Joc Pederson and a bases-loaded walk by Adrian Gonzalez. They will now go against right-hander David Hale, who will be making his second start of the season. He went 6.2 innings and allowed three run (two earned) in a 5-3 victory against the San Francisco Giants.

For the Dodgers, they send out Zack Greinke, who is enjoying an incredible start to the season. He leads the league with a 1.48 ERA and is 5-1 on the year. He’s 1-1 against the Rockies this season, but pitched better in the game he received the loss in than the one when he got the win.

It’s an interesting lineup for the Dodgers, who have Kiké Hernandez, Chris Heisey and Alberto Callaspo all starting. Jimmy Rollins, Andre Ethier and Yasmani Grandal start after sitting Game 1, while Adrian Gonzalez and Joc Pederson are in the lineup once again. There’s not much history between any of the hitters and Hale, but Rollins is 3-for-7 against him in the past.

The Rockies send out six players that started in the first game, with Troy Tulowitzki the big addition to the lineup. He joins Carlos Gonzalez as the two hitters with the best success against Greinke.
