Recap: Adrian Gonzalez Hits His 300th Career Home Run In 8-5 Victory Over Boston

The Dodgers looked to close things out against the Red Sox on Sunday with Brandon McCarthy getting the start! The Nationals defeated the Giants earlier in the day 1-0 so a Dodger win would put them only one game behind first.

The Red Sox got off to a quick start scoring one in the top of the 1st.

Brandon McCarthy would give up another run in the top of the 4th, and after that his day would be over. McCarthy would survive only 3.2 innings due to his difficulty commanding his pitches and finding the strike zone.

The Dodgers would finally strike back in the bottom of the 4th and would take the lead, making it 3-1!

The big two-RBI double would come off of the bat of Rob Segedin, his first major league hit!

The Red Sox would make the game interesting with 3 runs of their own in the top of the 6th, making the game 5-2.

The Dodgers would crush the hopes of all Red Sox fans watching in the bottom of the 7th thanks to back to back home runs by Adrian Gonzalez and Kiké Hernandez! Oh yeah, did I mention it was Gonzalez’s 300th home run of his career?

Kenley would come in to close things out in the top of the 9th, and thats exactly what he’d do! Dodgers take the series and are now only one game behind the Giants!
