J.P. Howell took the mound for the Dodgers in the top of the sixth. The left-hander hit a batter, but still managed to throw a scoreless inning with two strikeouts. On offense, the Dodgers sent three hitters to the plate and all three were retired.

In the top of the seventh, Juan Nicasio took over on the mound and ran into some trouble. A leadoff double and a walk put two on for Tejada, who singled in a run to make it 5-0. With two outs, Lagares hit a fly ball to right field that Puig seemed to lose in the sun and it fell in for a two-run triple. The Dodgers trailed 7-0 now.

The Dodgers once again went down in order in the bottom half of the seventh. Daniel Coulombe, who was recalled before the game, came in to pitch the eighth. He allowed a leadoff single to Daniel Murphy and Flores brought him in with a double to make it 8-0. The Mets would load the bases, but Coulombe didn’t allow any more runs.

In the bottom of the inning, the Dodgers were retired in order. Coulombe then did the same to the Mets in the ninth.

The Dodgers were unable to score in their final at-bat and dropped the game and the series to the Mets.

  1. Yes with Frias on the DL and Bolsinger pitching what amounted to batting practice it is not a great set up going forward. I know they brought up Coulombe but wow maybe they should give LEE a shot as a starter as he has improved a lot with the change in his mechanics. If I were the Dodgers I would think about putting Bolsinger on the DL and bring up someone else for a roster try. Are they just attempting to hang on until the All Star game and re-load? However we are still in first and have not played the best ball in the world. Last 50 games close to 500 ball. Not good.

      1. Yes you are right. I thought he was back but he is not yet. Before the injury he was doing really well. Too bad. Baker and Lee are both on DL. Lee is in rehab so back soon. Okie City is 9 games up on second place Omaha so doing very well.

  2. Donnie u left Bolsinger in too long I have been one of your strongest supporters but
    you messed up today
