Recap: Corey Seager Extends Hitting Streak to 17 in Dodgers 7-5 Victory vs. Orioles

The Los Angeles Dodgers spent their 4th of July at Dodger Stadium opening up a 3-game series vs. the Baltimore Orioles. Julio Urias was on the mound for the Dodgers to begin the series.

In the Dodgers 7-5 win Corey Seager extended his hitting streak to 17 games. Before the game, the Dodgers held a special ceremony before the game in honor of 4th of July, and even Vin Scully gave his thoughts on the 4th of July.

Urias struggled early in the game allowing the Orioles to go up 3-0 in the top of the 2nd.

Fortunately, the Dodgers bounced back thanks to back-to-back homers by Yasiel Puig and Yasmani Grandal to put the Dodgers on the board 3-2.

Puig was also sporting some very patriotic cleats on Monday.

After the 4th inning Urias night was done. He exited the game facing a 5-2 deficit with a runner on second base.

Fortunately, Puig comes through for the Dodgers again as Chase Utley brings him home to cut the deficit in the bottom of the 4th inning. Then Seager came in and did what he does best.

In the bottom of the 6th inning, Utley hits an RBI single to tie the game 5-5. Jumping to the bottom of the 7th Seager hits a leadoff triple.

Seager would then go on to score to put the Dodgers up 6-5.

In the bottom of the 8th the Dodgers sealed the game thanks to a double by Howie Kendrick. Kenley Jansen came in the 9th and the Dodgers comeback to win 7-5 and take the series opener.
