After a win on Friday night, the Los Angeles Dodgers sent their co-ace to the mound looking for another victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Clayton Kershaw tossed a scoreless first inning for the Dodgers and his offense responded with a run in the bottom half. Justin Ruggiano singled and took second on a wild pitch. Howie Kendrick welcomed himself back with an RBI single to make it 1-0.

Kershaw threw another scoreless inning in the second, but the Dodgers went quietly as well.

The reigning MVP ran into some trouble in the third, allowing two singles to start the inning, including one to Francisco Liriano. Gregory Polanco then had a swinging bunt that advanced the runners. With two outs, Andrew McCutchen hit one just fair that scored two runs.

Neither the Dodgers nor the Pirates would be able to score anything in the next few innings. Kershaw and Liriano exchanged scoreless innings with a few strikeouts between them. At one point, the Dodgers struck out five times in a row with four being looking strikeouts.
