With rain again falling, Ethier drew a one-out walk and Grandal followed with his second hit of the night. However, the Dodgers would get nothing else as Bettis retired the next two batters faced. Bolsinger got a pair of ground outs before issuing a two-out walk in the bottom of the fourth.

He caught a reprieve as Bettis’ spot in the order came up and the Rockies pitcher grounded out. Pederson drew a one-out walk and came around to score on Turner’s RBI double that he managed to sneak by Areando. The Dodgers’ 2-1 lead didn’t last long as Blackmon and DJ LeMahieu hit back-to-back singles with no outs and Tulowitzki pushed the Rockies ahead with a three-run home run.

Bolsinger battled back to retire the next three batters faced and keep the Dodgers’ deficit at 4-2. Guerrero doubled with two outs on a ball that hit third base and rolled down the left field line. As Bettis’ pitch count went over 100 he kept the Dodgers at bay by retiring Rollins.

Josh Ravin and Kiké Hernandez entered as part of a double switch in the bottom of the sixth, replacing Bolsinger and Rollins, respectively. Pinch-hitter Daniel Descalso reached on a sinking liner to right field and Blackmon slapped a single to left off Ravin, who regularly touched 98 MPH. Blackmon stole second base with LeMahieu at the plate, but the inning came to a end on a groundout.

Christian Friedrich allowed consecutive one-out singles to Pederson and Turner through the left side of the Rockies’ infield. Gonzalez dropped a bloop single into shallow center field that Pederson got a good read and jump on, which was key in him scoring.

Friedrich’s night came to a close as Brooks Brown entered only to walk Kendrick on four pitches. After falling behind in the count, Ethier hit a two-run single into right field that gave the Dodgers a 5-4 lead. Brown walked Grandal to load the bases and was lifted in favor of Scott Oberg.

Guerrero wouldn’t replicate his grand slam from Tuesday night as he this time grounded into an inning-ending double play and the Dodgers settled for a one-run lead after pushing three runs across in the inning.

Ravin sat the Rockies down in order in the bottom of the seventh, receiving help along the way from Hernandez, who ran out in center field to make a basket catch with his back to home plate on a Carlos Gonzalez fly out. Arenado and Barnes turned in a pair of impressive plays to help Oberg, but Pederson took defense out of the equation with an opposite-field solo home run.

The home run was Pederson’s 17th of the season, fifth in as many games, and extended the Dodgers’ lead to 6-4. Pederson became the first rookie to homer in five consecutive games, the streak tied a Dodgers franchise record and he became the first player since Matt Kemp in 2010 to accomplish the feat.

Adam Liberatore took over for Ravin in the eighth and picked up where his right-handed bullpen mate left off. All Liberatore did was strikeout the first two batters faced before getting Barnes to fly out.

Adrian Gonzalez ripped a leadoff double to right field in the ninth, but it was wasted as John Axford retired the next three batters. With Yimi Garcia and J.P. Howell warming up, Liberatore took the mound for a second inning of relief and gave up a leadoff single followed by a ground-rule double.

Garcia was summoned out of the bullpen and he promptly walked LeMahieu to load the bases with no outs. Tulowitzki worked a full count and drew a walk, bringing a run home and cutting the Dodgers’ lead to 6-5. J.P. Howell was next out of the bullpen and his first pitch got by Grandal, allowing the tying run to score.

Howell intentionally Carlos Gonzalez and was replaced by Chris Hatcher. The Dodgers called Ethier in to set a five-man infield, but it proved futile as Arenado hit a sacrifice fly to left-center and the Rockies won, 7-6.

With the loss, the Dodgers finished 3-4 on their seven-game road trip. They now begin a seven-game homestand Thursday.
