Recap: Yasiel Puig Homers in 3-1 Victory Over Diamondbacks

The Dodgers entered the game 4 games in front of the Giants, but that number wouldn’t last long! The Giants would end up losing to the Rockies in the bottom of the 9th, giving the Dodgers the opportunity to make the lead 5 games. Brock Stewart, who pitched phenomenally against the Cubs, would get the start and try to make it happen!

Let’s take a look at the highlights!

The Diamondbacks would get on the board in the top of the first thanks to a bloop RBI double off the bat of Paul Goldschmidt.

The Dodgers wouldn’t let that lead last long because in the bottom of the 1st, Corey Seager would hit an RBI double and a sacrifice fly by Yasiel Puig!

Brock Stewart would be pulled after 5, only giving up 1 run and 5 hits!

To add a little cushion, Yasiel Puig kindly hit one out in the bottom of the 6th! Welcome back, Wild Horse!

Kenley Jansen would come in the top of the 9th to close things out and he would do just that! Dodgers win 3-1!

The Dodgers will have the day off on Thursday but will be back on Friday with the return of Clayton Kershaw! Be sure to follow us on Twitter at @DodgersNation to get the play by play! Go Blue!
