Recap: Grandal Hits 2 Home Runs As Dodgers End Series On High Note

Petit laid down a bunt that was initially ruled a 2-6-4 double play. However, the Giants successfully overturned the out call at first base. That left runners on the corners with one out for Pagan, hit an RBI single to left. A Joe Panik walk loaded the bases, though nothing came of it as Duffy bounced into an inning-ending double play.



Grandal connected on a solo home run in the bottom of the to the Dodgers lead with a solo home run in the third to push the Dodgers’ lead to 6-1. Rollins reached on a single to left and Pederson drew a two-out walk. Petit got out of the inning on a Turner broken-bat liner to first.

Maxwell hit a two-out double to right-center field in the fourth, but was thrown out attempting to stretch it to a triple. Gonzalez led off the bottom of the inning with a solo home run, to give the Dodgers at least one run through each of the first four frames.

The Grandal-Rollins combination in the lineup continued to torment the Giants as Grandal hit his second solo home run of the game. Rollins followed with a double to right field to improve to 3-for-3 on the night, but Anderson struck out and the Dodgers led 8-1 after four innings.

Following another shutdown inning from Anderson in the fifth, the Dodgers’ home run barrage continued as Turner blasted a two-run shot to straightaway center in the home half of the inning. Michael Broadway threw a scoreless sixth inning for the Giants, which was a first in the game.

Daniel Coulombe entered in the seventh for the Dodgers and picked up two strikeouts after issuing a one-out walk. Coulombe allowed a pair of doubles in the eighth, with the latter off the bat of pinch-hitter Joaquin Arias and of the RBI variety to make the score 10-2 in the Dodgers’ favor.

Kiké Hernandez hit a one-out double in the bottom of the eighth before Javier Lopez could get out of the inning. Matt West made his second relief appearance in as many days since being recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City and recorded the final three outs in the Dodgers’ 10-2 win.
