Los Angeles Dodgers’ Full Schedule 2022
The Los Angeles Dodgers begin their 2022 regular season on the road in Colorado. Due to extended Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations, the season that was set to start on March 31st now begins on April 8th.
The Dodgers begin their slate of 81 home games on April 14th, welcoming the Cincinnati Reds to Dodger Stadium. On the 15th, MLB will celebrate the 75th anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier in baseball.
This season’s schedule features several doubleheaders and the MLB All-Star Game to be played in Los Angeles at Dodger Stadium, which was originally supposed to happen in 2020 before the pandemic shut down the world. Now in 2022, the 92nd Mid-Summer Classic will feature festivities and events in the days leading up to Tuesday night’s game. The annual Futures Game — Minor League Baseball’s version of the All-Star Game will be on Sunday, July 17 along with the Celebrity Softball game. On Monday the 18th, the Home Run Derby will take place at Dodger Stadium.
Promotions and giveaway nights pepper the Dodgers schedule this season, with an unprecedented 17 bobblehead nights on the calendar in 2022.
The Dodgers will also play the American League Central in this season’s slate of Interleague play. Next season, traditional Interleague play will change to where each team will play every team in baseball at least one series. The crosstown rival Angels will also match up against the Dodgers in June at Dodger Stadium and in July down in Anaheim.
For 2022, the schedule is noticeably back-heavy when it comes to playing against the in-division rival Giants as well as the Padres. From June 30th and on, LA matches up against the Padres 16 times and the Giants 11 times. The season ends with an awkward 6 game series against the Rockies.
